Welcome
From our Head of Junior School
From our Head of Junior School
This year, our College has introduced the Be Attitudes β a set of core behaviours designed to support our school values and guide the way we live, learn, and grow together. These include: Be Kind, Be Punctual, Be Respectful, Be Attentive, and Be Responsible. While simple in wording, each of these attitudes plays a powerful role in shaping not just our school culture, but also the character of each student.
To support this, we have developed clear definitions for each Be Attitude. This ensures consistent language across all classrooms as teachers explicitly teach these behaviours and connect them to relevant Biblical principles. In doing so, we are intentionally building a shared understanding of what it means to live out these values in a Christ-centred learning community.
The work we are doing around these Be Attitudes ties directly into our College mission: nurture for today, learning for tomorrow, and character for eternity. By nurturing these behaviours now, we are creating a positive and respectful learning environment. We are equipping our students with the skills and attitudes they will need to learn, grow, and flourish as confident and successful citizens tomorrow. And ultimately, we are shaping their character β grounded in faith β for eternity.
We are already seeing the positive difference these Be Attitudes are makingβand we look forward to seeing our students continue to flourish in kindness, responsibility, and respect. Thank you for partnering with us as we nurture these qualities together.
Blessings,
Dinah McDonald

Welcome back! I hope the school holidays gave you and your family space to rest, reconnect, and reset. Whether you spent time travelling, relaxing at home, or juggling the chaos of family life, I pray you found a moment to breathe.
As we step into Term 2, thereβs a fresh sense of possibility. New routines begin, fresh goals are set, and another chapter of the school year unfolds. For some, this week brings excitement; for others, a bit of nervousness or tiredness as we all adjust again.
In Psalm 46:1, weβre reminded, βGod is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.β As we return to the rhythms of school lifeβclasses, lunches, early morningsβthis is a truth we can lean on. God is with us in every moment: the joyful, the busy, the uncertain.
So whether you feel ready for the term ahead or not quite there yet, may you know that you donβt walk into it alone. God walks with us. Letβs take this new beginning one step at a timeβtogether.
Hereβs to a great Term 2!
Grace and peace,

Motherβs Day Celebrations
Motherβs Day Celebrations

We recently honoured the incredible mothers in our community with a week of heartfelt celebrations across both our Castle Hill and Kellyville campuses. The festivities began with Stall Days, where students browsed a variety of thoughtful gifts and trinkets to surprise their mums.
The highlight of the week was the Motherβs Day Breakfast, hosted on both campuses, where families came together to share a delicious morning meal in a warm, community atmosphere. Adding a personal touch to the celebration, students had the chance to select fresh flowers and have them wrapped as special gifts, which they proudly presented to their mums during breakfast.
It was a beautiful celebration of love, gratitude, and togethernessβtruly a memorable week for the Hills Adventist College community.
A big thank you also goes to our wonderful Home & School Association, who not only supported this opportunity but also ran both the stalls and the Breakfast and Blooms event. Your dedication and effort make experiences like these possible for our students and their families.

Cross Country
Cross Country

On Tuesday, 29 April, students from both the Castle Hill and Kellyville campuses laced up their runners and hit the track for the annual Hills Adventist College Cross Country event. The event was open to students in Years 3β12, and despite a week of unpredictable weather, the rain held off and the skies clearedβmaking for ideal running conditions.
Students showed great enthusiasm, determination, and school spirit as they tackled the course, cheered on by staff, parents, and classmates. It was wonderful to see everyone giving their best effort and encouraging one another throughout the day.
Congratulations to all participants for their amazing effort and sportsmanship, it was a fantastic day of fitness, fun, and community!

Pink Bun Day
Pink Bun Day

Today, Hills Adventist College turned pink in support of a great cause, celebrating Pink Bun Day with colour, compassion, and community spirit. Students and staff from both campuses joined together to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer support services.
Through the sale of delicious pink buns and generous donations, weβre proud to share that the Hills community raised over $650! This outstanding effort goes directly to supporting individuals and families affected by breast cancer, showing once again the power of coming together for a meaningful cause.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make the day such a sweet success. Your kindness and enthusiasm truly made a difference.
Anzac Day
Anzac Day

In the early hours of the morning, our College Captains and student leaders from both the Castle Hill and Kellyville campuses, accompanied by their families, came together to commemorate the ANZACs at the Hills Community Dawn Service. This solemn and reflective gathering served as a powerful reminder of the values that underpin the ANZAC legacy: valour, mateship, selfless service, and the profound act of putting others before ourselves. As we stood in silence, remembering the many men and women who gave their lives in the pursuit of peace and freedom, our thoughts were also drawn to the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ. Just as the ANZACs laid down their lives for our earthly freedom, Jesus gave His life to offer us eternal freedom and hope. Lest we forget. May we be inspired not only by the bravery of our war heroes but also by the love and sacrifice of our Creator and Saviour. Let us strive to live lives marked by courage, compassion, and a commitment to serve others.

Year 2 Reptile Incursion
Year 2 Reptile Incursion

To launch our informative report writing unit, Year 2 students took part in an exciting incursion hosted by Feature Creatures . We were introduced to a fascinating range of animals, including frogs, blue-tongue lizards, turtles, and snakes. Students had the chance to get up close with these incredible creatures while learning all about their habitats, diets, life cycles, and unique features. The hands-on experience sparked plenty of curiosity and excitement, giving us a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to begin writing our own informative reports on reptiles and amphibians.

Year 3 & 4 - Flavours from Far Away
Year 3 & 4 - Flavours from Far Away

Recently, our Year 3 and 4 students took part in Cultural Food Day, sharing dishes from their cultural heritage as part of their learning about Personal Identity in Health. The experience beautifully highlighted how our cultural backgrounds shape who we are and influence how we see ourselves.
Sharing food proved to be a powerful way to celebrate each other. It was heartwarming to see students come together, learn from one another, and connect through the stories and traditions behind each dish. Congratulations to all the students (and teachers!) who stepped outside their comfort zones to try something new.
A heartfelt thank you to the parents who so thoughtfully prepared dishes representing their heritage. Your time, generosity, and the conversations happening at home around cultural pride and identity brought incredible depth to the day.
It was a wonderful celebration of community, diversity, and the importance of honouring where we come from.

Noah M. Stars in New TV Mini-Series
Noah M. Stars in New TV Mini-Series

We are thrilled to share a wonderful achievement from one of our talented students in 5A, Noah M.
Noah recently filmed a role in Rewritten by Love , a new vertical format mini-series in the drama and romance genre. What began as an audition for a background role as βChild in Playgroundβ quickly turned into something much bigger. Impressed by his audition, the casting team offered Noah a speaking role as βJames,β a playground bully.
Although playing a bully was a stretch from Noahβs naturally kind and gentle personality, he rose to the challenge with professionalism and courage. The cast and crew were incredibly supportive, with even the lead actor sharing that he too was often cast as a bully early in his career and is now a romantic lead.
The production team was so charmed by Noah that they decided to rename the character from βJamesβ to βNoahβ in his honour, a true testament to the impression he left on set.
We are incredibly proud of Noah and can't wait to see where his creative journey takes him next.
Year 5 Camp at Bathurst Goldfields
Year 5 Camp at Bathurst Goldfields

Year 5 students recently enjoyed an exciting three-day trip to Bathurst Goldfields, where they experienced life during the 1850s Gold Rush. Despite the rain on the first day, which only added to the adventure, students enthusiastically panned for gold, gaining a hands-on understanding of history. The journey along Cox's Road and the visit to Hartley Historic Site revealed the tough conditions faced by convicts. At the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum, students were fascinated by the rare mineral and fossil specimens on display. The adventure continued with a thrilling ride on Scenic World's vertical railway and cableway, offering breathtaking views of the Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains. Besides the important learning experience, the trip gave students a chance to bond and share lots of laughs.

Year 7 Attend State of Origin
Year 7 Attend State of Origin

Last night, our Year 7 Touch Football Teams had the incredible opportunity to attend the pinnacle of the sport β the Women's State of Origin at Allianz Stadium.
Excitement was high as the students settled into their seats, ready to witness the action firsthand. The atmosphere was electric, and it only intensified when the New South Wales Blues crossed the try line an impressive four times. The cheers and screams from our students nearly drowned out the stadium speakers, as they celebrated each moment of brilliance on the field.
The match was not only a thrilling spectacle, but also an inspiring experience for our budding athletes. Watching elite players perform at such a high level gave the students valuable insight into the game and left many dreaming big.
It was a night full of fun, energy, and unforgettable memories. Weβre proud of our Year 7 teams for representing the school with such enthusiasm, and grateful for the chance to share in such a special sporting event.

Year 12 English Excursion
Year 12 English Excursion

On 14 May, we enjoyed a memorable day of culture and inspiration. We began at the State Library, where stunning architecture and thoughtful exhibitions offered space for reflection and discovery.
The highlight was a powerful performance of Samuel Beckettβs Happy Days . Minimalist yet captivating, it held the audience spellbound. The lead performer delivered Beckettβs wit and emotional depth with skill.
A well-deserved standing ovation closed the showβtestament to the talent on stage and the lasting impact of Beckettβs work. It was a day that celebrated the enduring value of art, storytelling, and shared cultural experiences.
