Welcome

From the College Principal

From the College Principal

The God we serve is very spiritually and mentally environmentally friendly.  God never wastes a moment, every challenge and success has purpose, guiding us spiritually and mentally to grow stronger. As we finish another year of learning, we hope you can recognise the opportunities that have shaped your child and helped them grow.

Looking ahead, we know the social media ban may bring changes at home. We wish parents well as you navigate this transition and encourage strategies such as open conversations with your children, setting clear expectations, and modelling healthy digital habits. We encourage a Christmas where connection is the focus but we acknowledge this change may be tricky for some of our students.

This year has been about building knowledge and character. Thank you for your commitment and partnership throughout the year. Wishing you a joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with hope and fun.

Chaplains Corner

Chaplains Corner

As we quickly approach the end of the year, we have been attending lots of graduation events and celebrating the hard work achieved by our students and wishing them well for the next chapter of their lives.

I remember that for me, leaving Year 6 was a big deal; back when Hills was K-6 and called “CHAPS” (Castle Hill Adventist Primary School!) and it meant you were going to a big unknown high school the next suburb over. I still remember our graduation dinner to celebrate the end of our primary school era. We were each given candles to walk down the hall to a song with the lyrics “take your candle, go light your world”. I generally have a terrible memory, but the fact that I remember this means it really struck a chord with little 12-year-old me.

I know that I wasn’t sure how exactly I would light up the world I was about to step into, but I knew that I was taking God with me, and I had a responsibility to show Him to the world.

Light is about bringing hope to a hopeless place and sharing love, joy and peace to those around us.

As we celebrate Christmas soon, we remember Jesus, the light of the world (John 8:12) who brings us the ultimate hope – for being born, or for his death which purchased our salvation, and the promise to come back once again and make the world anew.

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Hills Christmas Fair

Hills Christmas Fair

The Christmas spirit was brought to life at the Hills Christmas Fair on Sunday, 30 November. Hills Adventist College, in partnership with Kellyville Adventist Church and our Home & School Association, worked together on the festivities and it was wonderful to see so many students and families enjoying the event. Our Kellyville Campus buzzed with excitement as visitors enjoyed a range of festive attractions, including delicious food and market stalls, gingerbread decorating, face painting, a petting zoo and more.

Live performances throughout the evening added music, energy, and plenty of Christmas cheer, creating a warm and lively atmosphere for all who attended. The event not only celebrated the upcoming holiday season but also highlighted the strong sense of community that is present here at Hills.

A special thank you goes to the Hills Christmas Fair team for organising such a wonderful event, all the incredible volunteers, and to our generous sponsors, Hills Estate Group and Vitaceuticals, for their support. This year’s Hills Christmas Fair was truly a memorable way to welcome the festive season.

ELC - Celebrating It’s in the Bag Campaign

ELC - Celebrating It’s in the Bag Campaign

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity and compassion of our College community, we have been able to donate hundreds of items through this year’s It’s in the Bag campaign supporting Share the Dignity.

A huge shout out to everyone who donated to support our Early Learning Centre's initiative. Together, we packed an incredible 74 bags, a new record for our college! Each bag was filled with essential items thoughtfully contributed by children, students, families and staff, all with the shared goal of supporting women and girls in need.

When our team arrived at Bunnings to deliver the donations, the collection container held just two small bags. Thanks to our community’s kindness, we arrived with four large trolleys filled with gift bags and when we left, the collection container was overflowing. The expression on the Bunnings greeter’s face said it all!

Your generosity will make a meaningful difference to many individuals who need it most. Thank you for helping spread dignity, hope and care through supporting this wonderful initiative.

Year 4 Graduation

Year 4 Graduation

At the end of the term, our Year 4 students marked an important milestone as they graduated from Junior School and prepared to enter Middle School. The occasion was celebrated with a special Chapel service attended by parents, teachers, and friends.

Students took part in readings and songs, reflecting on their time in Junior School, while teachers shared words of encouragement for the journey ahead. Each student received their graduation certificate, proudly cheered on by their families.

It was a meaningful and joyful event, celebrating the achievements of our Year 4 cohort as they step confidently into Middle School. Congratulations to all!

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised an amazing $541! A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make the day memorable. Your enthusiasm and support continue to make a meaningful difference, not only for our students, but for children in foster care across Australia.

Aarush at the All Schools Cricket Championship

Aarush from Year 8 was recently selected for the CIS Cricket Team from a huge pool of talented cricketers and proudly represented CIS at the All Schools Championships in Maitland. The three-day event featured some of the most skilled cricketers in the state, and Aarush played a key role as CIS claimed the title as the overall Under 15 Boys Champions.

Nice work Aarush!
