Welcome
From the College Principal
From the College Principal
As we begin this new year, I warmly welcome you back to a fresh season of learning. As a staff, it is our privilege to partner with you and to watch, together, as your child continues to flourish.
One of the ways we nurture this partnership is through, ongoing conversations. As the Excellence Program enters its second year, it remains a key way we celebrate students’ effort, progress, and achievement across Academics, The Arts, Sports, and Citizenship. Each time your child receives recognition, you’ll receive a brief overview explaining what was acknowledged. We encourage you to use these moments to talk with your child, ask what the recognition was for and celebrate their engagement in physical, emotional, civic, or academic learning. You can also follow their growing tally of Excellence Points via your SEQTA parent dashboard.
I want to reaffirm something at the heart of our College community: we face challenges together. When difficulties arise, as they inevitably do, it is always us, united, versus the challenge. By working in partnership with our families, we create the steady, supportive foundation students need to grow with confidence.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year.

Chaplains Corner
Chaplains Corner
This week is our first “Week of Worship” of the year, and a great way to kick off the spiritual passion of our worship events throughout the year! Each morning, students from Years 5–12 (students from Kellyville Campus only) have been gathering for a program themed “Mission Possible: Jesus Saves the World,” inspired by Matthew 19:26. Our Year 12 students have taken the lead in every aspect of this event, from preaching and music to stage design, video production, and coordination. Watching them step into these leadership roles has been empowering to see how capable and talented our students are, especially the boldness of our student preachers as they step forward to share their faith.
The Week of Worship programs this week serve to inspire students and staff to remember that salvation is not possible of our own efforts, but through God, he has made the impossible, possible! We can rest easy in the promise that by grace, through faith, we have been saved from the power of sin over our lives and promised salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9).
We have had so much fun preparing and running these programs, and we ask you to pray over our students who will make a decision to choose to trust in God – perhaps for the first time – this week.

Welcome Tea 2026
Welcome Tea 2026

It was wonderful to begin the 2026 school year with our annual Welcome Teas at both campuses. Castle Hill families gathered on Tuesday evening, followed by Kellyville on Wednesday, 11 February.
Each evening began with light refreshments provided by our Home and School Association, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families to connect. Parents then attended grade-specific information sessions, where teachers shared key details about curriculum, expectations, excursions, camps and important dates for the year ahead. Students were supervised during these sessions, allowing parents to fully engage.
Thank you to our staff, Home and School Association, and families for making these events such a positive and meaningful start to 2026.

ELC Spotlight
ELC Spotlight

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the incredible staff of the Early Learning Centre from our college 2026. Your dedication, patience, and passion for nurturing young minds truly make a difference every single day.
Each of you plays a vital role in creating a warm, safe, and engaging learning environment where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow. The love, creativity, and effort you pour into your work are clearly reflected in the smiles, confidence, and development of the little learners in your care.
As we share this photo collage celebrating the ELC staff of 2026, we want you to know how deeply grateful we are for all that you do. Your commitment does not go unnoticed, and your impact will be felt for years to come.
Thank you for inspiring the future one child at a time.

Year 7 Camp
Year 7 Camp

The Year 7 Camp at Cru Camp Lake Macquarie was an unforgettable experience for students and teachers alike. The camp provided a wonderful opportunity for students to build friendships, strengthen connections with their teachers, and enjoy a range of exciting outdoor activities.
Students stayed in bunk-style accommodation and quickly settled into camp life. Throughout the camp, they worked in groups to challenge themselves in activities such as Archery, Giant Paddle Boarding, Raft Building, Sailing and the Zipline. Each activity encouraged teamwork, resilience and confidence.
With all sessions led by qualified instructors and supported by teachers, students felt safe while stepping outside their comfort zones. By the end of the camp, many students had formed new friendships, discovered new skills and created lasting memories. The Year 7 Camp was a fantastic start to high school life.

Excellence Program
Excellence Program

Hills Adventist College celebrates student effort and achievement across all areas of school life. From 2025, the Excellence Program will recognise students in Academics, Sport, Citizenship, and The Arts. Excellence at Hills is about doing your best and actively engaging in College life, not just results.
Points earned contribute to the House Shield, except for Citizenship, which is non-competitive to encourage positive behaviour, participation, and service. Parents can view their child’s points on the SEQTA Engage app.
Students in Years 5–10 will complete Culture of Excellence tasks that build skills and knowledge in preparation for formal assessments. Both Culture of Excellence and formal tasks will be shared on SEQTA and recorded on reports. With continuous reporting, tasks will be released throughout the year, with two end-of-semester reports and two annual parent–teacher meeting opportunities.
Students in Years 5–12 at Kellyville who need additional support with homework or class tasks may attend lunchtime academic support sessions, reinforcing our commitment to effort, growth, and support for all learners.
